Why Choose a Cockatiel?
Cockatiels are known for their sweet temperament and their love for human interaction. Unlike some other parrot species, they are generally quieter, although they do enjoy vocalizing and whistling. Their playful and active nature makes them a joy to watch, and they tend to form strong bonds with their owners. Whether you’re looking for a bird that enjoys being petted or one that prefers to sit near you while you go about your day, a cockatiel is an excellent choice.

Care and Socialization
Cockatiels thrive in environments where they receive plenty of interaction and mental stimulation. Regular handling and socialization from a young age can prevent nipping behaviors, ensuring they remain friendly and approachable. These birds respond well to positive reinforcement; rewarding good behavior while ignoring bad behavior is crucial to maintaining a healthy and loving relationship with your cockatiel.
Longevity and Health
With proper care, your cockatiel can live a long and healthy life, typically between 15 to 25 years. A balanced diet is essential for their well-being, including high-quality pellets, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Regular veterinary check-ups will help detect any potential health issues early on. Additionally, providing a clean, spacious cage and allowing your bird regular exercise outside the cage will contribute to their overall happiness and health.
The Bonding Experience
Cockatiels are highly social creatures that thrive on interaction with their human companions and other birds. They are known for their playful and affectionate nature, forming strong bonds with those who care for them. While generally friendly, untamed cockatiels may exhibit nipping behavior, but this can be mitigated through proper training and socialization.
Important Notes on Deposits

- Placing a deposit reserves your place on the Reserve Lists, but it does not immediately guarantee a specific baby cockatiel.
- Babies are offered to families in the order that deposits are placed, so the earlier you reserve, the better your chances of getting your preferred color and mutation.

- Your deposit ensures that your baby is DNA sexed, has a home waiting for them, and is reserved until weaned.
- A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to hold babies until they are fully weaned. Should the chosen baby be of a higher value, the difference will be paid at pickup. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable under certain conditions.
